Dr. Mike He

MBBS, PhD (Otago), FRACS

Dr. He is a Surgical Oncologist and General Surgeon with more than thirty years of experience. He has a special interest in skin cancer and melanoma with complex flaps reconstruction, and is highly skilled with oncoplastic reconstruction for breast cancer and soft tissue sarcoma. He also performs laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair, and colonoscopy.

Dr. He undertook his medical training at Zhong Shan Hospital, Fudan University in Shanghai, a world-renowned tertiary teaching hospital. He further received comprehensive surgical training at the Shock and Trauma Centre at Nippon Medical School Hospital in Tokyo, Japan, a premier specialised emergency facility renowned for its advanced trauma care.

He was awarded his PhD degree in 2004 from the University of Otago, New Zealand, for his research in mechanisms of angiogenesis, which plays a critical role in cancer development. Dr. He received further surgical training in Australia and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. He completed his post-fellowship training in surgical oncology, specialising in breast cancer, melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This is Australia’s largest cancer research institute and ranks among the world's best in specialised cancer hospitals.

Along with a dedication towards patient care, Dr. He also harbours a passion for medical research, supervising surgical trainees and teaching medical students. His published works have been featured in multiple medical journals.

Dr. He is a key member of regular multidisciplinary meetings for sarcoma, breast cancer and melanoma/skin cancer. Dr. He takes referrals for both private and public patents. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
